WHAT’S BLOOMING IN THE STUDIO
Hi y’all! It’s finally getting warmer which means lots more sunshine! I hope you all are enjoying it as much as I am. There are quite a few exhibitions on the horizon, including a solo exhibition of a completely new body of work that will premier at PrintHouston, a group exhibition at MINT, and a group exhibition at Arts Clayton. I will also be teaching fine art photography to students at Penland School of Craft, find out more so to say I am keeping busy is an understatement lol! As always, there are new works being created in the studio and I would love to share. You all are kind enough to let me land right into your inboxes, so that merits a sneak peak! Please reach out using the link below to schedule a studio visit (in person or virtual), receive an image list of new works, or to chat.

SOLO EXHIBITION: PrintHouston

“All closed eyes ain't sleep", cyanotype on cotton rag
As many of you all know, I have a love of experimentation and exploration in my studio practice. I have combined my love of photography with printmaking to create a new body of work. Cyanotype is a lovely process that sits in between printmaking and photographic processes. I am truly excited about this analog method and I will be premiering this series at my solo exhibition at PrintHouston in Texas during the month of June, so stay tuned for more details!

Diane Nicholette Jeon of Frames Magazine, a publication dedicated to highlighting photographers across a diverse range of topics and genres, did me the honor of speaking to me about my work. Hear her thoughts as well as mine in the full article below.

Additional Exhibitions

I am looking forward to this group exhibition at MINT featuring teaching artists within Atlanta Public Schools. Many of you may not know this, but I spend my weekdays educating the next generation of artists and art lovers! Atlanta Public Schools in partnership with MINT will be hosting an exhibition of teaching artists within the district. The opening is this Thursday, April 28th, 2022 from 5-9 p.m. This juried exhibition will be up through May 7th.
My twin sister, painter Sachi Rome and I have planned something really special for ArtsClayton. We were invited to exhibit dual bodies of work by curator, Brian Hebert. We are excited to see how our works play off of each other within the space. You can find out more about her work at www.sachistudioart.com . The exhibition opens June 4 at 5:00 p.m. We hope to see you all there if you are in town!
